Remember what I said about CHANGE.... Anyway, this may seem confusing in the beginning/right now, but you'll see where I'm going with it. Ch.1- Atira It started the day I was born. Before the day I was born, actually. My life purpose, it had always been, and always would be. I had no knowledge of how awful it was until it actually happened. I just knew that every dawn and every sunset, my father would call me into his throne room. There he would sing to me. His voice was like no other, and could make even the birds stop and listen from a mile away. At the time, it was simply a sweet, meaningless melody meant to give me comfort and strength. However, I didn't know it then, but even as a toddler, my father was mourning the loss of his only daughter, preparing to give me up. I can't say there weren't times when I got suspicious. I had always wondered why my seven older brothers got to go to school and do normal things, while I was either locked away in my room, or undergoing wh! at I saw then as pointless lessons that would never be of any benefit to me. I had always dreamed of going to school and playing with the other children, but my father always told me it could never be. Once, I remembered, as I prepared for a lesson in European etiquette while I watched my brothers head out for school, I asked my mother why it was so. "Mother," I'd asked, "why can't I attend school with my brothers?" She'd looked at me with an odd, uncomfortable expression and said, "Well, Atira, you ...
